Preparation Means Peace of Mind

Mount Ida's Estate Planning Attorney, John W. Yeargan, Jr.

One thing we know for sure is that the future is unknown. That uncertainty about the future makes estate planning crucial for families, homeowners, seniors and individuals with substantial assets. An experienced estate planning lawyer helps you shape the future by determining who will inherit your estate and who will make important decisions for you should you become incapacitated.

Most important, estate planning gives you peace of mind, knowing your loved ones won't have the added emotional and legal burdens of sorting through your estate and trying to determine how your assets should be distributed.

For a free consultation on planning your estate, contact me today at 870-867-4910 at my Mount Ida, Arkansas office.

Helpful Estate Planning Services

My cost-effective estate planning services include the following:

  • Wills: I make sure your will is durable and that it will hold up in court. I prepare standard, affordable wills that can be executed in my office for your convenience. You will be able to determine how your assets are passed on to loved ones and who you would like to administer the estate.
  • Will contests: If someone exerted undue influence over the decedent, a will contest may be required to ensure fair distribution of an estate. A contest may also arise relating to a paternity action.
  • Trusts: I assist clients in creating testamentary trusts and living trusts that can be funded at your passing. A living trust can help your heirs avoid probate.
  • Living wills: This document describes your wishes for prolonging medical treatments; also known as a physician's directive or health care directive.
  • Powers of attorney: You determine who makes crucial financial and medical decisions if you are incapacitated by illness or injury.

Probate Administration

I represent and counsel people serving as administrator of an estate (estates can be with or without a will). I take you through the legal process and paperwork of your duties in distributing the estate. The extent of my involvement is determined by your specific needs. I also represent clients in probate in Arkansas who live outside the state, as well clients in ancillary probate with property in Arkansas and probate in another state.
